Vail-Leavitt: Pay us $50,000 for Blues Fest

Asserting its trademark rights over the Riverhead Blues and Music Festival, the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall is demanding $50,000, plus a percentage of profits, from two rival groups to allow them to run the 2010 edition of the popular event.
The demand, called an “offer” in a letter mailed to the groups on Monday, has a 1 p.m. Friday deadline. If a deal isn’t reached by then, the Vail-Leavitt will sue for copyright infringement, according to terms in the letter.
