The Riverhead Little League held its annual Opening Day ceremony at Stotzky Park Sunday.
The league is home to 480 players — both boys and girls — on 38 different teams.
The season runs through July 20, with teams playing games at both Stotzky Park and Jamesport Center.
Riverhead softball pitcher Juliet Morrow was invited to throw out the first pitch for the softball program, and Riverhead Tomcats manager Randy Caden did the same honors on the baseball field.
Riverhead baseball coach Rob Maccone, who previously played for Mr. Caden, was invited to catch the first pitch.
