High school track: Triple jumper sets Riverhead High record

BOHEMIA — Melodee Riley broke her own Riverhead High School record in the triple jump, covering a winning distance of
39 feet 3 inches on Monday, the first day of the Suffolk County
Division Championships at Connetquot High School.

Another Riverhead girl, Katie Skinner, whose spring season was delayed about a month
while she recovered from surgery to remove a piece of metal from her
right foot, was also a winner. Skinner finished first in the Division
II 3,000-meter race in a personal-best time of 10 minutes 37.54 seconds.
