Members of Riverhead High School’s Blue Masques perform a sketch called ‘Slide Show,’ in which several actors strike poses and a fellow performer must come up with a scenario to match. The scene was part of Saturday’s ‘A Night of Improv,’ a benefit for the drama club. From left: Daniel Morgan, Cindy Mujo, James Yaiullo, Brandon Hollborn and Kristen Racaniello.

The Riverhead Care Center welcomes Jeannean Thomasch as its new recreation director. On May 12 the center held a community yard sale to assist the Horton Avenue flood victims. Total funds raised were $210. The center hopes to have another yard sale in the near future.

Jeannean welcomed Riverhead High School Key Club members to the center’s “senior” prom, where Julius Sobel and Marjorie Fisher were crowned as its king and queen, on May 13. Club members Bethany Normoyle, Kim Moreno, Savannah Flemming, Aysha Ozyilmaz, Paige Molinari, Melissa Kujawski, Amanda Commins, Matt Mulvaney, Josh Bieling, Darneisha Wilkins, Sam Gao, Samantha Sidker, Mia McCombe, Gabriella Misiano and Marrisa Hewkins entertained the center’s residents by dancing the Chicken Dance, Electric Slide, the Twist, the Mambo and more to the sounds of DJ Jim Papa.

Key Club adviser Louise Wilkinson also participated in the festivities. She wishes to inform the community that the club will be holding a fundraiser on Saturday, May 22. For every $10 spent at Pizza Hut, the club will receive $2, which will go toward sending two members to Nashville, Tenn., in July to participate in the International Key Club Conference. Those interested in receiving a coupon for the fundraiser should call Louise at 463-5810.
