Another arrest in heist at councilwoman’s house

Riverhead Police have made another arrest in connection with the theft of more than $25,000 worth of jewelry and other goods from Town Board Member Jodi Giglio’s house in Baiting Hollow in February.

Jason Scott, 22, of East Patchogue was charged at town police headquarters Thursday with second-degree burglary, authorities said.

Police said he and 17-year-old Sage Hervan, of Baiting Hollow broke into Ms. Giglio’s house and swiped the items while the Giglio family was on vacation.

Ms. Hervan was charged with second-degree burglary and petit larceny last week after the councilwoman’s husband, Mike, allegedly threatened the girl while he was holding a baseball bat. Mr. Giglio was charged with second-degree menacing.

Police also arrested Brian Deboer, 18, of Baiting Hollow on a petit larceny charge. He’s accused of stealing loose change and a bottle of rum during a separate incident that also allegedly involved Ms. Hervan.
