No injuries in school bus accident in Aquebogue

No passengers were injured in a Riverhead School District bus accident Monday, though several students were aboard the bus at the time, authorities said.
Riverhead School District Superintendent Diane Scricca said the bus was stopped near the railroad crossing on Meeting House Creek Road in Aquebogue when it was rear-ended by a small car which then fled the scene.
“No one was hurt,” she said. “There was really minimal damage to the bus.”
Dr. Scricca could not say where the bus was coming from, but said it continued to operate after the crash.
The accident was reported to town police at about 4 p.m.
