Barbara A. Booker of Riverhead, formerly of Coram, died June 27 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 64.
She was born May 7, 1946, in the Bronx to Cyril and Una Pinto. Raised in Coram, she graduated from Longwood High School and attended Suffolk County Community College.
In 1971, she married Stanley Booker in Selden. Ms. Booker was a clerk typist with Riverhead Central School District for over 20 years, and she also ran Barbara A. Booker Income Tax Services in Riverhead for many years.
According to her family, her favorite hobbies were camping and traveling.
Ms. Booker is survived by her husband of 39 years; her sons, S. Milton, of Griffin, Ga., and Steve, of Moriches; her siblings, Lela Hernandez of Phoenix, Ariz., and Victor Pinto of Texas; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 1 at Friendship Baptist Church in Riverhead by the Rev. Charles McElroy. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead.
