Betty L. Harris

Betty Louise Harris of Westhampton Beach died June 20 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 62.

She was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Newark, N.J., to Samuel Davis and Lucy Rolland. She later moved to Riverhead, where she graduated from Riverhead High School.

She married Walter Harris Jr. on Jan. 26, 1964, in Riverhead.

Ms. Harris worked as a solderer, riveter and home health aide. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Riverhead.

She enjoyed watching television, barbecuing and cooking. According to her husband, her favorite times were Thanksgiving and Christmas, when she got to cook for the family.

Predeceased by her sister, Shirley Davis, she is survived by her husband; her children, Dana, Sean and Trevor; her siblings, Anthony, Brian and Rita; and four grandchildren.

The family received visitors June 25 prior to funeral services at First Baptist Church of Riverhead, led by the Rev. Charles Coverdale. Interment followed at Riverhead Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Seay Memorial Chapel of Riverhead.
