Clarence M. Harris Jr.

Clarence M. Harris Jr. of Riverhead died July 3 at Peconic Bay Medical Center at the age of 67.

Born in Greenport Feb. 20, 1943, to Clarence and Harriet Harris, he was raised in Riverhead and graduated from Riverhead High School. He married Susan White on Aug. 27, 1966.

Mr. Harris worked as a mechanic and later as a driver for East End Asphalt in Jamesport for over 18 years. According to his family, he loved race car driving.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife; his daughters, Marilyn, Debra and Latisha, all of Riverhead, Cheryl, of Delaware, and Jacqueline, of Maryland; his sister, Priscilla, of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Homegoing services will take place at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, July 8, at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead, Dr. Roy Pennon Sr. officiating. Private cremation will follow. Arrangements are being handled by Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead.
