Summer band camp comes to a close

Bass player Billy Johnson and vibraphonist Teddy Charles (both
of Riverhead) perform with Renaissiance Camp students on the
grounds of the East End Arts Council’s Community School of the
Arts Friday afternoon, the last day of the two week jazz, rock
, blues and pop music camp.

The East End Arts Council’s Community School of the Arts wrapped up  Friday with a performance by students.
Instruction for the two-week camp was hands-on with kids both learning as they played, and playing as they learned. By being part of a “group”
(3-5 musicians) as well as a “Big Band,” campers gained an
understanding of each others’ instruments.
