Man arrested for beating another man in Riverside McDonald’s parking lot

A Riverhead man was arrested on assault charges  for
allegedly beating another man with a piece of wood in the
Riverside McDonald’s parking lot Monday,
authorities said.
Southampton Town Police said Gerardo Nijchoy, 23, who fled the
scene, left another man bleeding from the head after the fight
which occurred at 11:15 p.m. at the Route 24 eatery. The victim
was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of his
injuries.
After searching for him, Southampton Town Police along with
help from New York State Police found and arrested Mr. Nijchoy.
He was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree
criminal possession of a weapon.
