Blanche E. Blauvelt

Former Greenport resident Blanche E. Blauvelt of Riverhead died Sept. 18. She was 93.

She was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Queens to Chester and Clara Quinlan.

A clerk for Continental Insurance Company in Manhattan for many years, she enjoyed reading, according to her family.

Predeceased by her husband, Harry, in 1982 and longtime partner, Fred Chiellot, in 2005, she is survived by her cousins, Ann O’Connor, Joann Krieg and John Peck.

Family received visitors Sept. 21 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, Sept. 23, at 11:15 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Private cremation will follow.
