Half the month is gone! Time is not just going fast but absolutely leaping. Next thing you know we’ll be scurrying around for the holidays. I don’t even want to count the days until “you know what” just yet so I’ll leave that up to you. It all depends on whether or not you want to stress yourself out now or later.

Wedding bells are ringing. Good luck and best wishes to Melissa Guida and her fiancà , Paul Fox, on their new journey as husband and wife beginning Saturday, Sept. 18, from all your family and friends, who love you both so much!

Did anyone attend the Bluegrass and Big Duck Country Music Festival Saturday? I couldn’t because I have another crazy ear infection, but I heard it went very well. The winning entry of The Friends of the Big Duck’s Songwriting Contest was “Ode to the Big Duck” by Shari Yeomans of Westhampton Beach. The winner was announced after Caroline Doctorow and The Steamrollers performed, with judges Lisa Dabrowski and Mike Reilly introducing Shari. Congratulations.

Happy birthday to Ryan Shea, who celebrated his 11th on Sept. 15. Mom, Dad, Luke, Tyler, Spencer, Scruffy and all your family and friends send lots of love and good wishes and hope you had an excellent birthday! Best wishes for a happy birthday also go to Shawn Wanat, who will celebrate Sept. 24, and Robin Ambrose, on the 25th, from the entire Ambrose/Wanat family. May you both have a great day! Happy 6th birthday to my nephew James Zaleski III, who celebrates tomorrow, Sept. 17, from Mom, Dad, your sister, Charlotte, and all your family, especially me, Aunt Ta-Ta. I love you so much, boogaloo! I hope you have a great day. I’ll be picking you up right after school tomorrow to take you to Target to pick out your gift.

A very special thanks to those who helped Mr. Kenneth Raush when he cut his arm last weekend, very seriously I might add, working at a friend’s home in the Garden Homes community in Hampton Bays. The neighbors were very helpful in assisting him, especially Todd. Thanks to Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance for their quick response, Southampton Hospital and Dr. De Bellis for the good job putting him back together again (his words … LOL). We’re all glad you’re feeling better.

That’s all for this week, folks. I hope everyone enjoyed their week and I hope this coming weekend is great to you. Take advantage of the beautiful weather we’ve been having. Make sure you get out and do something special. Don’t drink and drive and please put your cell phones down. Call me with any news you’d like to share with the community.
