* Heywood Orenstein, owner of Allstate Insurance in Jamesport, and Elizabeth Hanlon, owner of Allstate Insurance in Riverhead, have each been named Agent Heros for Allstate Insurance Company’s New York Region and awarded $500 to be given to a local youth program. Mr. Orenstein donated the money to the Jamesport Fire Department for its scholarship program for teens in the Junior Fire Department program. Ms. Hanlon directed her grant to the Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch in Riverhead.

* Kevin Fox has joined the law firm of Twomey, Latham, Shea, Kelley, Dubin and Quartararo as an attorney.

* The North Fork Promotion Council has invited all members to submit a design for invitations, posters, marketing materials and newsletter for the upcoming ‘Mid-Harvest Night’s Dream’ gala. The winning submission will be featured on the new NFPC website. Submissions must be sent by Sept. 24 in jpg format and with contact information to [email protected].

The gala will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, at Jason’s Vineyard in Jamesport.
