Aquebogue-Jamesport: Buy your tickets for the Hallockville Museum Farm raffle

Terry and Ava Robinson of Aquebogue would like to wish their grandson Tyler Dick a very happy 4th birthday today, Oct. 21. Say Ava and Terry, “We are all very proud of you, Tyler.” Tyler caught several fish recently while fishing with his dad and uncle Scott. The fish were all released back into the water. Congratulations and a very happy birthday to you, Tyler!

The final workshop on “The Way of the Labyrinth” is this Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Parish Church in Riverhead. In this workshop you will learn the history of the labyrinth, different designs, use of the labyrinth, journal writing, dowsing and group sharing. Bring comfortable shoes and an umbrella if it rains. A light and healthy lunch will be served. Space is limited, so call today to see if there are any openings! Donation: $35 per person. All proceeds will go to First Parish Church, UCC.

Another program offered at FPC/Spiritual Renewal Center includes Taizé. Join those seeking peace, harmony and spiritual connection through this simple, candlelit worship service. There will be singing of simple contemplative songs, candle lighting, prayer and meditation, following in a simple order of ecumenical Christian worship. The service is Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at FPC, UCC. Everyone is welcome. A free-will offering will be collected. Hallockville Museum Farm is hosting a raffle to win a one-week vacation plus a $1,000 gift card! The vacation choices include a summer golf vacation (July 8-15, 2011) or a winter ski vacation (Jan. 14-21, 2011). Lodging is at Keystone Resort in Keystone, Colo. Only 600 tickets will be sold, with the drawing to be held on Dec. 5 at the “Christmas at Hallockville” event. The winner need not be present to win. Tickets: $20 each or 6 for $100. I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful fall weather. I worked outside this weekend cleaning up the gardens to put them to sleep for the winter.
