Jean Armbrust Orlowski

Jean Armbrust Orlowski, a lifelong resident of Mattituck, died on Nov. 13, 2010, at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport. She was 78 years old.
She was born in Mattituck on July 24, 1932, to August and Cecile Armbrust and was a graduate of Mattituck High School, Class of 1950, and of Katherine Gibbs Business School.
Jean was a retired office manager with the former Swezey’s Department Store in Riverhead, where she had worked for 25 years.
Surviving are her children, Sharon Mello of Mattituck, Sandra Cyprus of Wading River, David Orlowski of Albany, Ga., and John Orlowski of Summerfield, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren, Demi and Amber Mello, Nicole Mahon and Lauren Cyprus, Carson and Parker Orlowski and Mikayla, Ashley, Shelby and Lindsey Orlowski.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Bethany Cemetery in Mattituck.
