Halsey Fanning Reeve

Lifelong Flanders resident Halsey Fanning Reeve, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, with his family and his Mary at his side.
Mr. Reeve was an accomplished singer with many choirs in his early years. His love for music and singing was surpassed only by his love for horses. Early on, Halsey participated in many a country fair, riding proudly with his children by his side.
Among Halsey’s many endeavors were farming, travel trailering and working as an inspector with the Suffolk County Department of Public Works, from which he retired to enjoy his life as a husband, a father and, proudly, as a grandfather.
Mr. Reeve was predeceased by his loving wife, Muriel Palmer Reeve, and their son, Laurence Halsey Reeve, DVM.
Mr. Reeve is survived by three children: his son, Lindsay P. Reeve, and his wife, Diane, and their three sons, Dylan, Ethan and Isaac, all of Flanders; his daughter Dr. Linda Reeve Peddie, her husband, Dr. James Peddie, and their daughters, Jennifer and Hillary along with sons-in-law Joey and Christopher and three grandchildren, Helena, Nathaniel and Morgan, all of California; and his daughter Lesley Reeve Noble, her husband, Michael, their daughter Samantha and son-in-law Joseph, and two grandsons, Jackson and Mikey, all of Pennsylvania.
Graveside services were held at the family plot in Riverhead Cemetery, Nov. 22, 2010.
His family would like to express their love and gratitude to longtime family physician Dr. Vishnu Seodat and everyone at East End Family Practice for the exceptional care given to their father throughout the years.
Donations in remembrance of Halsey may be sent to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978.
