Since 2005, owners Cheri and Stephen Wirth have strived to make Digger O’Dell’s “much more than an Irish pub.” With head chef Bob Grippi and chef de cuisine Eric Linker offering a vast array of dishes, there’s something to tempt even the pickiest eater.

The choices Diggers offers range from classic deli sandwiches, such as carved turkey breast or a BLT, served with french fries, cole slaw or potato salad, to specials, from BBQ pork on a bed of seasoned rice to lemon pepper grilled chicken on mixed greens with a cilantro vinaigrette. Digger’s regular entrées include flounder stuffed with shrimp, scallops, crab and clam, then “baked just right.” For Irish fare, they offer classics like shepherd’s pie; corned beef and cabbage; and Black and Tan fish and chips — cod fillets dipped in Guinness and Harp beer batter, “golden fried to perfection.”

Diggers offers a vide variety of beers on tap, like Blue Moon Belgian White, Fire Island Beer Company Red Wagon IPA, Greenport Harbor Blue Duck Porter and Long Ireland Celtic Ale, plus over 20 bottled varieties.
