Catherine Ann Witek

Catherine Ann Witek of Riverhead died Dec. 7 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 80.
She was born Aug. 1, 1930, to Luigi and Catherine (D’Amato) Savino in Brooklyn, where she was raised and graduated from high school.

On July 3, 1949, she married Anthony Witek in Brooklyn. The couple later moved to Calverton.
Ms. Witek was a homemaker and also worked in electronics at Grumman Aerospace.

According to her family, she enjoyed crafting and making beautiful plates.

Ms. Witek is survived by her husband of 61 years; her children, Patricia Fischetti of Rocky Point, Anthony, of Ridgefield, Conn., Dianne, of Brooklyn, and Michael, of Lake Grove; her sister, Rose Savino of Brooklyn; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held today, Thursday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 10, at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
