SWR’s McDonnell wins two events at crossover meet

Shoreham-Wading River junior Shannon McDonnell won a pair of events last Thursday in the winter track Crossover B meet at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood. She finished first in the 600-meter dash in 1 minute, 43.33 seconds. In the triple jump she won with a top mark of 32 feet, 4 inches.

McDonnell was the league champion in the 600 last year and at the small school championship she finished second.


Other results included:

55-Hurdles: Shoreham senior Meagan Hearney, 9th, 10.3 seconds.

1,000: Shoreham sophomore Laura Lee, 2nd, 3:25.8

3,000: Shoreham junior Audrey Kelly, 3rd, 11:58.97; Shoreham eighth-grader Rose Andrews 6th, 12:13.84.

1,500 Race Walk: Shoreham sophomore Kylie Trettner, 1st, 8:12.17

Shot Put: Shoreham senior Shannon Gallagher, 6th, 27-10
