Marion M. Gibson

Marion M. Gibson of Aquebogue died Dec. 27 at her daughter’s home in New Jersey after a long illness. She was 88.

She was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Trenton, N.J., to Richard and Anna Jane (Ford) Hutchinson. She graduated from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn and worked as a nurse for 50 years, 28 of them at Central Suffolk Hospital in Riverhead (now Peconic Bay Medical Center).

An avid duplicate bridge player, Ms. Gibson directed the Riverhead Bridge Club for several years to benefit PBMC, according to her family. She loved her Aquebogue home “surrounded by farmland, fields and beaches,” family said.

Predeceased by her husband, Francis, she is survived by her daughters, Jane Kinkle of Caldwell, N.J., Gail Gargiulo, of West Caldwell, N.J., and Suzanne, of Piscataway, N.J.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

No services were held.

Memorial donations may be made to Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation, 1300 Roanoke Ave., Riverhead, NY 11901.
