Snow and ice will make for hazardous Saturday night

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Long Island’s East End starting at 4 p.m. Saturday and running until 6 a.m. Sunday, during which time the region could see between three to five inches of snow and freezing rain.

Even higher amounts of snow could fall on the South Fork.

Icy conditions and wind gusts of up to 30 mph will make for hazardous conditions on area roadways. Officials are warning to use caution while driving.
