Flanders: Historical Society and FRNCA meetings
Hello, friends and neighbors. How many more days until spring? I’m tired of winter. I can see some green grass in patches in my yard, which I’m excited about. I just can’t wait to be able to sit outside again in the early morning with a cup of tea and a book.
The Flanders Historical Society has a new home for their meetings, along with a new website. Their next meeting will be held tonight, Thursday, Feb. 10, at the David Crohan Community Center at 7 p.m. All are welcome. FRNCA’s next meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 14, at the David Crohan Community Center at 7 p.m. This month’s agenda will include an update from the Southampton Housing Authority and an open floor for questions and comments. Cake and coffee will be served. All are invited to attend. FRNCA also reminds everyone that the Community Cares Coat Drive is still in progress. Do consider donating a new or gently used child’s coat for the children of Phillips Avenue School (grades K-4). It is greatly appreciated.
The Southampton Chamber of Commerce will feature a Networking Night on Thursday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Driver’s Seat, 62 Jobs Lane, Southampton. Come on out, meet some new prospects, and enjoy some appetizers. A cash bar will be available. Bring plenty of business cards to swap and enter a raffle. All are welcome. Happy 16th birthday to my son, Michael, on Feb. 15, from me, Dad, Thomas and Kaitlyn. Hope it’s a great day. Love you! Happy 6th birthday to my nephew Ryan Zaleski on Feb. 16, from Mom, Dad and all of us here at Ta-Ta’s house. To Anthony Marin, who will turn 12 on Feb. 12, from Mom, Dad, Alyssa, James and all your family and friends. Anthony Sideratos and his grandmother Josephine Sideratos also celebrate their birthdays this month. Anthony will celebrate his 22nd on Feb. 13 and grandma her 92nd on Feb 15. Best wishes from your family, they love you both very much. To my nephew Sam Dickerson, who celebrates his 11th birthday on Feb. 14, from Mom, Dad, Julie, Poppy and all your aunts, uncles and cousins. To my niece Reilly Butler, who will celebrate her 16th birthday on Feb. 17, from Mom, Dad, Donna, Katie, Poppy and all your aunts, uncles and cousins. Whew! February is a very busy month for my family. Special thanks to Poppy Doherty for helping me keep it all straight.
