Henry Grabowski

Henry Grabowski of Riverhead died March 11 after a long illness. He was 87.

Born Jan. 5, 1924, in Poland to Franciszek and Julianna Grabowski, he married Stasia Niecko on Feb. 20, 1955, in Riverhead, where he lived for 62 years. He was an owner/partner in J & G Builders of Riverhead for over 30 years, and when the business was dissolved, he  worked for Roy Reeves Builders  in Mattituck.

According to his family, he enjoyed fishing and bowling, and he belonged to St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead and the Polish National Alliance. He was also involved in activities at Riverhead Polish Hall.

Survived by his wif of 56 years, his son, Edward, and a granddaughter, he was predeceased by his brother, Stefan, and his sister, Zofia, both of Poland.

Visiting hours were held March 13 and 14 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service was led by Father Robert Kuznik March 15 at St. Isidore Church. Interment was at the church cemetery.
