  • A shame, Bill has the balls to say what others think (or might think if they knew what was really going on in Gport business). I wonder how many votes your paper persuaded when you bashed him last week. Ahh the power of ink. It is too bad someone so passionate about this town is only seen as a distraction by the powers that be. In time the truth will come out. Congrats to the winners!

  • i like what he had to say – but he was counter-productive. i did not feel anything would be done if he was in again

  • This website has got lots of extremely helpful stuff on it! Thank you for helping me.

  • Congratulations to all the winners in Greenport. It’s been many years since of living Greenport but I would like to see the village become more family organized a family of visions. In other words to clean up the village. I left there in 1971 , after I left high school I’ve been back several times I have a lot of friends and nine that I went to high school with say the Greenport is not the same. I hope that demand can make an impact on that area

  • Do these guy’s get a salary from the Taxpayers? If so, why do we need a Town Board in Southold and Geenport? For that matter, why do we need a Greenport Mayor and a Town of Southold Supervisor? Duplication of jobs costs ME precious money as a Working Poor Taxpayer of Southold Town!

  • As usual, nothing but idiocy and drivel comes from your mouth. They are TWO SEPARATE municipalities that SHARE services. You would know that if you weren’t such an uneducated, closed-minded transplant.

  • There are benefits to being a village. And we pay less Southold taxes than someone who pays Southold alone. AND you knew it was a village with seperate taxes when you bought.

  • Let’s hope someone went to visit the Wizard for a brain? The only hope is Murray the other two nimcanpoops have already proven they have no brain cells left!’

  • He doesn’t even live in the village – so what the heck is he talking about?

  • I just asked a question – Are there DUPLICATIONS of job assignments???? Needless spending costs ME money!

  • No idiot! You live in Southold… you pay for NOTHING in Greenport. We in Greenport pay SOUTHOLD taxes (gladly) for shared services. Don’t speak if you are not educated on the issues. Stay in SOUTHOLD!!! Please.

  • It is a shame that the most experienced person for the position did not get in because his delivery of information is rough around the edges. Smooth talkers don’t necessarily made the best decisions, just the better impressions. Every board needs someone willing to ask the tough questions, not just put a yes stamp to every proposal.

  • I could not agree with you more,we need more citizens like you,who do take the time to listen to the candidate who has the most experience and where greenport village would benefit,I am quite sure that particular candidate is watching our every comments, and by the way that candidate is a lifelong long member of the village, has a raised a family here and knows exactlywhat the voters of the village needs, after all I suppose we have not learned our lesson yet and at this point hold your breath, gas prices are rising ,food costs are rising ,as well as inflation, one thing is CERTAIN FROM SMOOTH TALKERS THERE SALARIES AND BENEFITS ARE GOING UP !!WHILE THE HARDWORKING AMERICAN FAMILIES CONTINUE TO SUFFER—- UNACCEPATABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I WOULD LIKE TO OFFER THE FACT THAT SOUTHOLD RESIDENTS DO IN FACT PAY GREENPORT VILLAGE ,AND THAT IS IN THE PAYMENT OF THE EAST WEST FIRE DISTRICT TO THE GREENPORT VILLAGE/FIRE DEPARTMENT. I COULD GO AT LEGNTH.IF YOU DO HAPPEN TO HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ,PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FOIL YOUR VILLAGE HALL,ON PRECISELY HOW SOUTHOLD TOWNS TAX DOLLARS ARE PAYING FOR THIS FIRE PROTECTION /APPARATUS REPLACEMENT FUND.

  • will you all now deal with the very serious but hushed up problem of illegal imagration now!!!!! if not the down fall will come, to many here and to many living in each house or apt!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would like to thank the one resident ( yes, I know who it was and we will be having a long talk about it) who wrote in my name at the recent village election, with that vote, I join a long list of famous alternative candidates. Names like Mr D Duck, Mr. M Mouse, Mr. H Simpson, have long been some of the most famous and revered write in candidates, I am truly humbled to be included in such esteemed company.
