Elizabeth A. Sypher

Elizabeth A. Sypher of Jamesport died Feb. 23 at Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. She was 77.

She was born July 22, 1933, in Riverhead to Carl and Henrietta (Carter) Downs. A high school graduate, she married Orville Sypher and was a homemaker for most of her adult life.

Ms. Sypher is survived by her husband; her daughters, Leslie McCabe of Flanders and Cheryl Burgess of Riverhead; and four grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held Feb. 25 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. Services and interment took place Feb. 26 at Riverhead Cemetery.
