Riverhead kids compete at Lego League Championship

Students from across Long Island packed the gymnasium at Longwood High School Sunday to compete in the FIRST Lego League championship tournament.

At the annual science and technology tournament, students from 48 teams had to present a research project, complete a task focused on teamwork and — the crowd favorite — send small robots made of Legos out onto obstacle courses.
