Frederick Askin, known as “Rick,” died April 25 in Riverhead. He was 58.
He was born in Queens on May 22, 1952, to Frederick and Evelyn Askin. He attended college in Pittsburgh, Pa., and lived in Riverhead for 30 years.
He was third-shift manager for Additive Products in Aquebogue and worked for Y-Pay More Inc. in East Hampton. In his spare time, he was a volunteer for the Christian charitable organization Samaritan’s Purse.
He is survived by his close friends, the Wood and Petersen families.
Arrangements are in the care of McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery in Riverhead. Father Tom Coby will officiate.
