Shots fired in Riverside; two houses damaged

Police are investigating a shooting incident in Riverside, after which shrapnel from shotgun blasts was found to have damaged the sides of two Old Quogue Road houses, authorities said.

Cops from Southampton, Riverhead and New York State police departments responded to the scene just before 10 p.m. Monday night, when “one or two” shots were reported, said Southampton Police Sergeant Todd Bennett.

No injuries were reported and no arrests were made, police said.
