Local districts file projected school admin salaries

05/17/2011 1:48 PM |

How much are local school administrators expected to be paid in the 2011-12 school year?

That information is required to be sent from almost all school districts at this time each year to the New York State Education Department, which then posts the data on its website.

Only administrative salaries more than $120,000 must be reported. Districts are required only to list the position, and not the name of the person holding that position. The information is self-reported and un-audited, according to the state.

The first column shows salaries, the second lists the monetary value of fringe benefits and the last column is the monetary value of other forms of compensation, such as use of a district car, housing allowances or other items.

  • Close to $300,00 per year you have got to be kidding me. This shows you that the school board is irresponsible to the very people who elect them. If this doesn’t prove to you that they are giving away the ranch nothing will. Ann Cotten Degrasse is the ring leader as she being a retired teacher is agreeing to over compensate her fellow teachers. None and I mean none of these administrators are worth this kind of money. All for the children my a–! If you can’t see now that they only care about themselves then you must be blind. This is why we can’t afford to do much needed repairs to the buildings. It’s because of these ridiculous salaries agreed to by our school board. Now we know where all of our money has been going all these years and that is to fatten up the pockets of the administration. People this has to stop now. At the top of the list is Ms. Cover-up herself Nancy Carney she is not worth her salary by a long shot.

  • no worries… check out the rest of the school employees in alphabetical order here:

    C’mon… it’s for the children…..

    Zimbler, David S Ndr $168,028

  • I agree with you about Anne Cotten-Degrasse…If she gets back in you will have to watch the teachers contracts very closely .They will be starting negotiations soon.
I disagree with you when it comes to Nancy Carney once she sees where Degrasse is taking her she’ll back away…….

  • It’s not the teachers. It is clearly the administrators (who have their own seperate union, btw). Their the ones draining the district. Look at how many there are! Do we really need principals, assistant principals, and associate principals? Why can’t these positions be combined? What are they doing? Curriculum? Nope. We have directors for that. Those 21 people could easily be 100 or more teachers.

  • Agree, electing Cotten-Degrasse is like having the fox watch the chicken coop. And we WILL be watching them VERY closely, count on it.

  • These are the current salaries of our administrators in Miller Place…How many of us make this money for what amounts to a part-time job..When you see Ms. Hodun in the supermarket or CVS during the school day with her kids in tow tell her “Shame on You.” Most are unqualified and were given the job due to patronage…Hopefully newly elected board member Mr. Neyland will make this a priority…

  • How do you figure that Carney is less than Scricca? Scricca was paid $244,892 in 2010. This year we are paying Carney $288,629.
