1) When did you get the car?

[My mom] bought it brand new for $3,699 from Helms Brothers Inc. on Northern Blvd. in Flushing Queens. She has all the original documents for the car including the bank check from Queens Savings Bank.

2) What shape was it in?
It was brand new and now it is unrestored original condition with 69,000 miles on it. We keep it in the garage and in the winter it sleeps.

3) What was the biggest challenge in restoring it, and did you do the work yourself?
I kept it up all these years. Mom was always on top of it telling me what to do if it needed to be cleaned or serviced.

4) What’s your favorite thing/feature on the car?
She loved the color, bronze metallic. I wanted her to buy the Plymouth Gold Duster but she didn’t like it. I took her back to see the Dodge Swinger.

5) What was the first car you owned, make and model?
This is the first and only car  my mother owned. My father, Angelo, had a 1956 Buick Special.
