Charles Lewis Moshier, age 78, of 149 Moshier Hill Lane, Statesville, N.C., passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, at Davis Regional Medical Center. He was born September 4, 1932, in Nassau County, N.Y., to Elbert Layton Moshier and Anne Rita Leitz Moshier.
Mr. Moshier served in the U.S. Navy with a commendation and was a retired construction worker. He attended the Living Church of God in Statesville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Marie Lewis, Sarah Moshier and Anne McKenna.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy McFadyen Moshier of the home; one son, James Alexander Moshier of Mattituck, N.Y.; two daughters, Janet Evans and husband, Bill, of Fleetwood and Adrienne Reddy of Statesville; one brother, Edward Clinton Moshier and wife, Delores, of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren: Alexandra Moshier, Zachary Moshier, Valerie Moshier, Amanda Sandor, Carly Evans, Kyra Reddy and David Reddy; and two great-grandchildren, Abraham Sandor and Isaiah Sandor.
A graveside service was conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Salisbury National Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Ehman officiated. Military rites were provided by Salisbury National Cemetery. The family held no formal visitation.
