Four hurt in two-car crash on East Main Street

Four people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-car collision on East Main Street in Riverhead, near Riverhead Brake Service Thursday evening, officials said.

The 6:30 p.m. crash briefly led to a section of the road being closed to traffic while Riverhead police, firefighter and ambulance personnel responded.

  • Is it me or does it seem like the roads around here are getting more dangerous? I sat in the parking lot by the traffic circle one day and observed the free-for-all that takes place as drivers enter and exit. Not sure what the answer, maybe more police presence is needed at these “hot” spots.

  • I agree, very dangerous. I have seen people travel in the wrong direction in that traffic circle. I am a life long resident of Riverhead and have never seen so many aggressive and careless drivers. How about a common sense test in order to secure a drivers license?
