‘Borat’ actor again filming at Shoreham Power Plant

PARAMOUNT PICTURES COURTESY PHOTO | 'Borat' actor Sacha Baron Cohen was reportedly in town Sunday for filming of his upcoming release 'The Dictator,' based on a romance novel by Saddam Hussein.

Golden Globe winning actor Sacha Baron Cohen is reportedly in the area today to shoot scenes for his upcoming film “The Dictator” at the former Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant.

According to reports on the film location website On location vacations, the filmmakers were back filming on the closed Shoreham site today after filming there earlier this month.

Film set signs near the LIPA access road leading up to the power plant that read “Finch” were hung last night. “The Dictator,” loosely based on a best selling novel by Saddam Hussein (yes, that Saddam Hussein),  is reportedly shooting under the working title “Finchley Dreams.”

The film also stars “Scary Movie” actress Anna Faris and “Gandhi” actor Ben Kingsley. It is being directed by “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” director Larry Charles, who also helmed the Cohen film “Borat.”

Mr. Baron Cohen co-wrote the script and serves as a producer on “The Dictator,” which is said to be loosely based on the romance novel “Zabibah and the King,” originally published anonymously in Iraq and later linked to Hussein.
