Accident backs up traffic on Main Road in Aquebogue

An accident was reported in front of Paumanok Vineyard in Aquebogue shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Riverhead Police Officer Jonathan Deveaux responded along with the  Jamesport Fire Department after receiving a report  of an accident between a westbound 2005 BMW and a eastbound 2010 Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for neck injuries.

Jamesport Fire volunteers did a washdown at the scene because of fluids leaking from the engine. Traffic was stalled on Main Road for more than 30 minutes in both directions.
