Dicky Green

Dicky Green of Calverton died July 15 in Calverton at the age of 67.

He was born March 5, 1944, in Queens to Bennie Jacunski and Betty Green. He married Sharon Gibbons and served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968.

He worked in installation and repairs at  Verizon in Riverhead.

Mr. Green was a past president of Foxwood Village in Calverton, where he served on the recreation committee; a coach for both Riverhead Little League coach and Pop Warner youth football; a past member of Riverhead Moose Lodge; and a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.

He was an organizer of the annual chicken barbecue at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead for 30 years, and its chairman for 5 years, served as treasurer of the St. Isidore school board and was an Eagle at the annual Polish Town Street Fair and Festival in Riverhead.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife, of Calverton; his son, Todd, of Riverhead; his daughter, Trisha Fragnito of Wading River; his sister, Judith Barth of Mattituck; and his grandchildren: Hunter, Hudson, Kendal and Kwasna.

Visiting hours took place July 17 and 18 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service was held July 19 at St. Isidore R.C. Church, with the Rev. Robert Kuznik officiating. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
