Slide Show: Wounded Marine honored at Jamesport Fire Department parade

The Jamesport Fire Department honored two local Marines as co-Grand Marshals at its annual parade Wednesday night.

Corporal Alfred Grossklaus Jr. of Aquebogue and Corporal Robert Peeker, also of Aquebogue, led the parade and were both presented with proclamations from the Town Board honoring them. Corporal Grossklaus, who was wounded in action on June 26 and received a Purple Heart , is still recovering from his injuries, and rode in a car. Corporal Peeker wore his 
uniform and marched behind him. Both men served in Afghanistan.

Also honored at the parade was John Anderson, a 60-year-member of the fire department.
