The sixth annual Community Appreciation Day hosted by the Church of the Harvest of Riverhead and their Pastor Mike Troiano was held Saturday afternoon on the Peconic Riverfront in downtown Riverhead. The pastor said that the purpose was to bring the community and churches together and to show appreciation to the town, elected officials, police and volunteer fireman. Other churches that participated were Living Water Full Gospel in Aquebogue, House of Praise in Aquebogue and Truth Community Church in Flanders. There was contemporary Christian music, face painting, free food and water, a dunking tank and a pie eating contest.
