Wading River man arrested for DWI on Shelter Island
A Wading River man is facing a driving while intoxicated charge after he was caught speeding on Shelter Island early Sunday, authorities said.
John Sheppard, 57, who police said was also driving without rear taillight, was pulled over on West Neck Road about 3:30 a.m. and found to be intoxicated, police said.
He was charged with DWI and several traffic violations including speeding and not wearing a seat belt. he was held for an appearance in Shelter Island Town Justice court and released on $750 bail.
