Health Beat: Diabetes support group discontinued

• The final session in a five-week Healthy Living Series will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31, 6-7 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension, 423 Griffing Ave., Riverhead. The session will deal with written and hidden messages on food labels. There’s a $10 charge for the workshop unless you have paid $45 to attend the full series. Call 727-7850 ext. 340.

• Peconic Bay Medical Center has canceled its diabetes support group that had been meeting on the first Friday of each month.
