LIPA Update: More than 90 percent of Riverhead residents have power back

Fewer than 1,500 Riverhead customers remained without power Friday morning, according to the latest numbers from the Long Island Power Authority.

That means about 92 percent of all Riverhead Town residents who lost power from Tropical Storm Irene have seen their outages restored. LIPA had pledged to have 90 percent of outages fixed by Friday.

The most local outages remain in Calverton and Wading River, with more than 500 customers still without power in each hamlet.

The following is a complete list of active local outages as of Friday morning:

Wading River — 502

Riverhead (hamlet) — 256

Aquebogue — 103

Jamesport — 48

Northville — 28

Flanders — 20
