Lottery planned for EPCAL deer hunt
Riverhead will hold a deer hunt next month at the Enterprise Park at Calverton, and a lottery to select the hunters who will participate is set for Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Town Hall, beginning at 6 p.m., according to Councilman George Gabrielsen.
The hunt, which will be bow hunting only, will run from Oct. 10 to Nov. 27.
This will be the first bow hunting season for deer at EPCAL in about 10 years, Mr. Gabrielsen said. Last year, the town held a month-long shotgun hunt for deer at EPCAL in January.
