Marianne O’Connor of Calverton died Oct. 17 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 74.
She was born Aug. 22, 1937, in Brooklyn to John and Florence (Biscardi) Rossi. She met Richard O’Connor in April 1957 and married him that November, in Brooklyn.
Ms. O’Connor was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She loved to babysit, and after her own children were grown, she took care of many neighborhood children, according to family members.
She is survived by her husband, of Calverton; her sons, Robert, of New Jersey, Kevin, of Washington State, and Michael, of California; her brothers, David, Anthony, Dominic, Thomas, and Edward; and two granddaughters.
Visiting hours will take place Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, with a service at 3 p.m. conducted by the Rev. George Summers. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery.
