Riverhead students to appear on ‘The Challenge’ quiz show

Riverhead High School students squared off against a team from Islip Monday for an upcoming episode of the MSG Varsity quiz show, The Challenge.

Students Sandra Ruttkayova, Gabby Savaneviciute, Daniel Raynor, Meyling Zuniga and Nina Giannuzzi represented Riverhead along with their coach, high school science teacher Christopher McCrary.

The Challenge test students in art, literature, math, science, history and current events. Now in its 15th season, the show is made up of four rounds: multiple choice, lightning round, free response, and the complete 180 round, according to the MSG Varsity website.
