Photos: Bingo, bango, it’s BENGO! in Riverhead

The Riverhead Middle School drama club, known as the Middle Masques, held a BENGO fundraiser Friday night in the school’s cafeteria.

The event started at 7 p.m. and ran until about 9:30 p.m. Participants paid $10 for 10 games, with the cash going to help fund the club’s upcoming “Grease” musical scheduled for Jan. 13-14 and Jan. 20-21.

About 50 students, teachers, parents, and their friends competed for prizes donated by local merchants.

The BENGO event was in reality an old-fashioned BINGO night. There were so many prizes available that there were three or four winners for most rounds. Prizes included board games and school supplies as well as gift certificates for spa treatments, wine tastings, and brunches for two.

“Grease” will be directed by middle school teacher Ed Tholl and produced by Pat Skura, who is a secretary at the school.

We can’t all be winners.
