Business Beat: Suffolk County National Bank spreads Hope for the Holidays

• King Kullen Grocery Company has raised more than $100,000 through its James A. Cullen Memorial Golf Outing to support Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York in its efforts to find foster and adoptive homes for children on Long Island and in New York City. King Kullen has raised more than $3 million for Little Flower since inaugurating its golf outing program in 1983.

“We hope to share the value and strength we find as a family-run business and believe Little Flower Children and Family Services demonstrates this daily through care of children and those in need,” said Thomas Cullen, company vice president. The Cullen family has actively supported many programs, including the construction of the eight cottages that provide a residential setting for more than 100 children and teenagers at Little Flower in Wading River.

• Suffolk County National Bank is spreading Hope for the Holidays by raising funds from its patrons to benefit Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch in Riverhead. From now until Dec. 24, bank personnel will be asking patrons to contribute $1, $5, $10 or more to the effort to provide a safe haven for children during times of neglect, abuse or crisis. Contributions can also be made directly to Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch at timothyhillranch.org.

• Bridge Bancorp, Inc., the parent company of Bridgehampton National Bank, has filed a prospectus to sell shares valued at up to $10 million of its common stock. The shares would be offered through Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P. The company plans to use proceeds from the sale for general corporate purposes, including contributing to the capital of the bank. Sales are made pursuant to the company’s Nov. 21 prospectus and its original July 10, 2009, prospectus. • The East End Women’s Network will hold its December meeting and holiday party at the Gallery Ballroom in the Hyatt Place East End, next to the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center in Riverhead, Wednesday, Dec. 7. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and entertainment at 6 p.m. Spouses and significant others are welcome. The first 75 guests will receive complimentary swag bags with goodies contributed by EEWN members. The organization is accepting contributions for the Family Service League that helps local families. Gift cards and checks may be submitted at the event. The cost for the dinner is $35 for members who make advance reservations or $40 for non-members and those without reservations.
