Pedestrian hit by car in fatal E. Main Street crash

A 62-year-old Riverhead man was hit by car and killed Monday night while crossing East Main Street near Riverhead Town Hall, Riverhead Police said.

John Fetkovich was struck in the two-lane roadway about 7:30 p.m. by an eastbound 2004 Volvo driven by David Winkler, 64, of Cutchogue, authorities said. Mr. Fetkovich died at the scene, police said.

Mr. Winkler was not charged in the crash, but police are still investigating.
