Anne Elak

Anne Elak, a longtime Cutchogue resident died Dec. 12, 2011. She was 80 years old.

Born in Peconic, N.Y., on May 17, 1931, to Stephen and Rose (née Bujilik) Koraleski, she was a graduate of local schools. She later married John C. Elak and together they made their home in Cutchogue and were the owners of Manor Hill Farms and Farmstand on Manor Hill in Cutchogue.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church and a member of the Columbiettes of the Marian Council of the Knights of Columbus, both in Cutchogue.

Predeceased by her husband, John C. Elak, on April 7, 2005, she is survived by her son, John C. Elak Jr. of Cutchogue and daughter, Roseanne Berezny of Aquebogue; a brother, Edwin Koraleski of Peconic; a sister, Helen Smith of Kings Park; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, with  Columbiette services at 2:30 p.m. and parish prayer services at 3 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church by Father Marian Bicz. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Cutchogue.
