Cops: Riverhead drunk driver had open container, no license

A Riverhead woman was charged with DWI early Friday morning after she drove around several road closed signs at the intersection of County roads 31 and 104, Southampton Town Police said.

Shannon Hofsiss, 25, of Riverhead was also found to be driving without a license and with an open container of alcohol.

In addition to DWI, unlicensed operation and driving with an open container, she was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device and operation without a seatbelt.
