James J. Bissett III

James J. Bissett III of Mattituck died Dec. 14 at the age of 48.

Mr. Bissett was co-owner of the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center and the recently opened Hyatt Place East End Hotel in downtown Riverhead. Mr. Bissett’s family owned and operated Bissett Nurseries, with locations in Dix Hills and Holtsville.

He is survived by his wife, Carole; his daughters, Dominique Bissett-Viscardi and Danielle; his son, James IV; his sisters, Denise, Michelle Pospischil and Diane Nelson; and Irene Bissett, the mother of their children.

Visiting hours took place Dec. 18 and 19 at Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home, where a eulogy was given. Cremation was private.
